The first few years of childhood are some the most formative. When they are 2 or 3 years old, many children are taken on play dates by their parents or left for an afternoon aa babysitter’s house. In short, they are given the opportunity to meet and socialize with other kids. This essential socialization activity is hardly an option for autistic children, who generally begin displaying symptoms of the disorder by age 3.
