PCA-Rx for Heavy Metal Detox
, 11 25th, 2009
There has been a lot of hype lately over the incredible results from a drug known as PCA-Rx, but do you really know what it is? The formula of PCA-Rx actually contains living microorganisms that work to detoxify and purify your body, particularly through eliminating heavy metals, chemicals and bodily pollutants. This process is a crucial element in maintaining a health body.
One of the best aspects of the product is that it is able to remove all of these harmful materials while not altering the beneficial minerals and vitamins that are in your body. Certain people are more at risk of heavy metals and various pollutants, but we are all exposed to them everyday, regardless of where we live or work.
PCA-Rx is administered in the form of an easy to take nasal spray, so it is even great for young children. You only need a few sprays each day to experience the detoxifying benefits of the formula.
Autism Study Advocates Parental Training
, 11 23rd, 2009
Parents of autistic children have long suspected that medication alone couldn’t provide a solution to their woes. As of today, the National Institute of Mental Health has released results of a study backing up those suspicions. According to the study, autistic children’s behavioral problems can be tempered considerably by adding a parental training program to the usual regimen of pharmaceuticals.
For about seven years now, there has been some concern from parents about the adverse effects of antipsychotic drug Risperdal. The medication has been shown to be effective at calming autistic children and helping them to control tantrums, but it has also been linked to increased appetite and serious weight gain. The study pit a group of children prescribed with Risperdal alone against a group of children taking the antipsychotic and also being given carefully managed behavioral guidance by their parents. The second group showed the greatest signs of improvement over a six-month period.
Other autism research has found that if the disorder is diagnosed early in a child’s life, it’s in a parent’s best interest to seek out alternative treatment options. These might include chelation therapy, wherein dangerous mercury particles are sought out and removed from the child’s system. That technique has been proven effective for children who develop autism due to exposure to the mercury-based vaccination preservative Thimerosal.
Autism Treatment Should Start Early

The first few years of childhood are some the most formative. When they are 2 or 3 years old, many children are taken on play dates by their parents or left for an afternoon aa babysitter’s house. In short, they are given the opportunity to meet and socialize with other kids. This essential socialization activity is hardly an option for autistic children, who generally begin displaying symptoms of the disorder by age 3.
One of the worst aspects of autism is that it puts up a communication barrier between children and the people who love them. While there is no definitive cure for this complex brain disorder, parents have some options as to effective treatment methods. As is always the case with medical complications, the earlier the treatment is started, the better its chance of having a serious impact.
Chelation and clathration make up an especially promising treatment for autism. Chelating agents are introduced to the body, where they isolate toxic particles. These toxic particles could originate from mercury poisoning or some other heavy metal that has infiltrated the bloodstream and the brain. The harmful particles are engulfed and escorted out of the body
Early Intervention and Autism Treatments

For children on the autism spectrum, being misunderstood, neglected and underestimated is unfortunately par for the course. It’s up to parents to change that pattern by recognizing the symptoms of a potential disorder and getting it diagnosed by a trusted pediatrician. But what’s the next step after diagnosis? Parents can pursue a number of treatment options – some of them designed to rid the child of the disorder and others meant to make the best of the situation.
It’s especially important that parents alert their child’s teacher about the disorder and that they discuss ways to address it in a classroom setting. Social alienation is not uncommon for kids on the spectrum as they do not always respond normally to spoken language or imaginative play. Depending on the disorder, the child might demonstrate a compulsion for routines and predictability.
Once autism awareness is obtained, it might be time to explore some treatment options. Some studies have shown that mercury poisoning contracted from exposure to childhood vaccines could play a part in the onset of autism. If this is the case, it’s possible the heavy metal came from thimerosal, a mercury-based preservative. Methods exist for drawing toxic metals out of the body and restoring normal mental functions.
Aiding Digestion with Beneficial Bacteria
, 11 10th, 2009
To a young child, the word “bacteria” is often considered synonymous with germs, sickness and disease. And it’s really no wonder, since parents are always reminding their kids to wash their hands to get rid of bacteria. Just a few generations ago, everyone in the world was equally clueless about the potential health benefits inherent to certain types of bacteria. The human body would not be able to function properly if it weren’t for some strains of bacteria living in symbiosis with us.
In recent years, researchers and private corporations have attempted to harness the power of lactic acid bacteria. This strain has been shown to be effective at filtering out toxins from the colon and providing a general sense of well-being. This is one example of an emerging phenomenon known as probiotics, or dietary supplements containing good bacteria that should naturally be found in the body.
According to Dr. Michael Picco of the Mayo Clinic, probiotic supplements have proven effective at treating yeast infections, irritable bowel syndrome, intestinal infection and other issues related to a bacterial imbalance. He also cites a Swedish survey conducted in 2005 suggesting that people taking probiotic supplements missed less time at work due to illness.
Autistic Children Need Order in Their Lives
, 11 09th, 2009
As most parents of an autistic child would readily attest, the disorder makes kids very particular and oftentimes compulsive about the smallest organizational details. In the mind of an autistic child, order and predictability are very important. Even slight deviations from the norm can be upsetting, and they can set behavioral patterns back as well. That’s why decorating an autistic child’s bedroom is such a delicate process.
Pamela Downing of the Brownsville Herald suggests a few tips for attempting the task. The idea, according to Downing, is to keep the room’s organization simple and well defined. Depending on the child’s age, a play center and work area should be set apart and even labeled if necessary. The play center will be the area where the child plays with his favorite toys, and the work center should be used for completing homework assignments, using a computer and so on.
It’s crucial for parents to seek out as much autism education as possible in order to learn about how to cope with the disorder. Making special accommodations – like the setup of a bedroom – isn’t the half of it, however. Parents should explore treatment options even outside the realm of traditional medicine, always searching for a treatment that’s effective for their child. Remember that the earlier autism is diagnosed, the sooner it can be treated and its effects reversed.
Autistic Children and Holiday Celebrations
, 11 03rd, 2009
Autistic kids truly are creatures of habit – to the extent that minor deviations from a set routine can trigger temper tantrums and full-on freakouts. Luckily the Autism Society has offered a series of tips for family members dealing with autistic kids during Thanksgiving, Hanukkah and Christmas. Kids with the disorder generally like to be kept aware of what is going on around them. It’s up to each parent’s discretion as to when to tell kids about the impending holiday plans.
Seemingly minor household changes – including the presence of visitors and decorations – can be troubling to a child with an autism spectrum disorder. Try involving them in the process of decorating the house or picking out a Christmas tree so that they won’t be shocked to discover a jarring difference in the way the home looks. Since autistic kids often become fixated on receiving particular gift items, it’s best to negotiate with them about the number of times it’s permissible to mention the gift.
Seeing distant relatives and acquaintances can be problematic for an autistic child as well. According to most articles on autism, you should prepare the child well before the visitors arrive. Bring out a photo album and reintroduce the family members to your child gradually and repeatedly. By the time they show up for the holidays, your child will be mentally and emotionally prepared for company.
What’s in Those Vaccines Anyway?
, 11 02nd, 2009
In an effort to address the controversy surrounding the contents of childhood vaccinations – most notably the H1N1 vaccine – we went straight to the source. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the government agency tasked with protecting public health and safety, most vaccines contain several key ingredients. There’s a suspending fluid such as water or saline, which is of little interest to us because it is relatively inactive.
Then there are the preservatives or stabilizers of which thimerosal is the most notorious. While it has been removed from most childhood vaccines because of its potential link to the onset of autism, traces of it are present in the H1N1 vaccine. The final important component of a vaccine treatment is the enhancer, which is meant to improve its effectiveness. While vaccine damage is not common, the CDC lists several “common” substances found in vaccines that could be cause for concern.
First and perhaps most troubling, formaldehyde is often used to kill viruses and bacteria that may contaminate the vaccine while it’s being made. Most of us will recognize it as a key embalming agent. Thimerosal is the mercury-based preservative that is meant to stop the contamination and proliferation of harmful bacteria within a vaccine. As documented previously in this blog, mercury is capable of wreaking havoc when exposed to human tissue.
