I recently discovered that my three-year-old son is autistic. When I became a new parent, I did everything I could to learn about different disorders and things that would be best caught early on, just because I wanted to be prepared and there are a number of people diagnosed with high-functioning autism in my family. They say it’s best to diagnose and start treatment as early as possible.
Since there is no medical test such as a blood test currently available for diagnosing autism spectrum disorder, it’s important to have a good deal of autism information to know whether or not your child should be looked at by a psychological professional who can properly diagnose an autism spectrum disorder.
