Unfortunately, we are currently living in a world where many people adhere to a willful ignorance of the facts; this is something that has extended into people who misunderstand autism. There are many people that believe misrepresented data purely because of the simplistic way it has been represented to them. People hear “vaccines are bad and cause autism” and assume this is the whole truth.
This people are completely incorrect, of course, and a simple search for autism information on the Internet will reveal that the basis for these anti-vaccination arguments has essentially zero support from established scientists. It is unfortunate how many people make assumptions regarding autism and how to treat autism based on incorrect information.
