Autistic children and adults frequently have other ailments in addition to being on the spectrum. Vision impairment is a commonly diagnosed. Impairments can range from visible misalignment of the eyes to difficulties with eye focus to neurological suppression in one eye.
A new form of autism therapy, vision therapy, is available to help relieve some vision impairment symptoms. Some tools strengthen the eye muscles and teach better control over the eyes. It is best to consult with a physician before starting any new therapy.
